From the supplier: The Massachusetts Senate has passed a bill that will end the state's no-fault automobile insurance system by a vote of 24 to 11. The state's no-fault system and $2,000 tort threshold would be replaced by a modified tort system that would require mediation before litigation could begin. The bill also mandates strict penalties for auto insurance claim fraud and rolls back bodily injury rates by 10%. Gov William Weld, a proponent of no-fault auto insurance, likely will veto the bill if it is passed by the House.
